The customary system of
Indian education ‘Gurukula’ is the key of our traditional art forms. In
Kathakali also the norms and conditions of the above mentioned thoroughly from
the beginning. In Kathakali school well experienced teachers and well known in
the field are present. So many foreign students accepted their method of
education. During the course period this centre is offering break to see
the performances in different parts of Kerala. So the students can very well
understand the original forms and even gets a chance to interact with masters
of the respective fields. As the majority of the teaching staff is Gurus in their
subject, the students easily assimilate with their knowledge.

The Kerala Kathakali
Centre was founded in 1990 in Kochi, the oldest city in Kerala and known as the
Queen of the Arabian Sea. The centre's aim is to popularize
and support the classical arts of Kerala, find out new talents, and perk up the
standards of training and performances by meticulous regulation and perseverance.
Various traditional arts and rituals are also encouraged and performed here.

Kathakali Sadanam
This training centre has made a name for itself in the field of Kathakali training among other
noted centres in Kerala. We are talking about Sadanam, the cultural wing under
Gandhi Seva Sadan, which was established in 1953 and is located at Perur in Palakkad
district of Kerala. Popularly known as Kathakali Sadanam, this centre for
Kathakali training came into existence thanks to the efforts of Mr. K. Kumaran,
its founder, who was a freedom fighter and a patron of art forms.
Sadanam has short-term training courses in Kathakali, which are basically meant for students from outside Kerala. For those, who are interested in undergoing intensive training, Sadanam provides the assistance of special tutors. Over the years, the center was responsible for churning out quite a good number of students from abroad, who had undergone training in various disciplines of Kathakali.

Kerala Kalamandalam
Founded in 1930, it is a deemed University of Art and Culture by the Government of India, is a major centre for learning Indian performing arts, especially those that developed in the Southern states of India, with the special emphasis on Kerala. It is situated in the small town of Cheruthuruthy in Thrissur district on the banks of the Bharathapuzha river.
